Our Story
Foster Dreamz was founded by a child of foster carers and accredited foster carer with over 10 years of volunteer experience. It was inspired by the stories and lives of the children that have touched the hearts of her family. There are approximately 50,000 children in Out-of-home care in Australia who due to a range of issues aren't able to fully realise their strengths, engage and be accepted by the wider community. Foster Dreamz strives to allow children in Out-Of-Home Care to excel, get involved, develop a range of skills and to see a future beyond the foster care system and the appalling statistics stacked up against them from overrepresentation in substance abuse and homelessness to incarceration. After making it to the grand finals in both Monash University's 'Leave No One Behind' competition and The Big Issue's 'Big Idea' competition, Foster Dreamz are continuing their work with the help of several community partners and activity partners.
